Volunteer Program

Becoming A Volunteer

Become a NEFORD volunteer and share your skills to bring about change in the lives of poor, destitute and needy. We fight poverty and encourage global effort to eradicate this malice from earth. We invite volunteers from all parts of the world to strengthen our efforts and participate in our activities.

The NEFORD volunteer program is designed to expand its human resources capacity by providing opportunities for individuals to contribute their services on a voluntary basis. Those selected for the volunteer program will be utilized in areas according to their qualifications and the needs of the NEFORD. No financial assistance is available from NEFORD.

Candidates should preferably have an academic interest in the mandate and subjects of the NEFORD. Assignments under the NEFORD Volunteer Program are not designed to lead to a staff position within the Organization.

Volunteer assignments do not normally exceed 60 working days. During the assignment, volunteers are expected to remain in their assigned duty station. At the end of the assignment, the volunteer will receive a NEFORD Certificate of Appreciation.

Volunteering Opportunities

NEFORD has a wide range of volunteering opportunities for:

    Agriculture

   Rural Development

   Children & Women

   Education

   Vocational Training

   Health & Sanitation

   Disaster Management

Flexibility in Work Area

NEFORD encourages both individuals and institutions to select, design and implement their own voluntary activity under the auspices of NEFORD. This helps volunteers in making maximum use of their time, energy, talent and expertise for the benefit of families who are experiencing the social stresses of poverty, illiteracy and unemployment. To organize your own voluntary activity, provide a written proposal for an assignment, describing the objectives and the expected results of your voluntary work with NEFORD.

Remuneration

There is no remuneration for individuals working with this program. Individuals who are engaged as volunteers will not be paid and the costs of travel, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of the individual. However, for certain assignments NEFORD may provide modest accommodation & hygienic meals to volunteers. It may also arrange for transportation between place of boarding and job site.

Assistance to Volunteer

Volunteers will organize their own travel plans and expenses to reach their duty station. NEFORD shall assist volunteers in planning their travel & accommodation within India. NEFORD will provide the volunteer with documentation certifying that the individual is a volunteer with NEFORD, which can be used to obtain a visa, if necessary.

Professional Support &  Supervision

The volunteers will undergo orientation program with regard to local working conditions and regularly meet their site supervisors. This gives the volunteers opportunities to ask questions and receive guidance about the work that they are doing from trained professionals in the field.
